About Me
Hi, I am
Hafsa!
Yes, I cook. A LOT.
I’m not a chef, and I don’t run a catering business. I’m simply someone who has cooked three meals a day, every day, for the past decade and eventually decided it was time to let the internet in on the chaos.
Hafsa Cooks is where I share the meals that actually happen in my kitchen: comforting, practical recipes inspired by my desi roots, everyday cravings, and a serious love for chocolate.
How Hafsa Cooks Started
This blog didn’t start as a food blog.
Back in 2015, I began sharing random snapshots of life on Instagram, occasionally posting what I was eating along the way. Food slowly started to take over the feed, but it wasn’t until maternity leave, when I suddenly had pockets of time while the baby napped. That cooking became the main event.

My Cooking Style
- I believe cooking should feel approachable, flexible, and a little bit fun.
- I rarely measure things perfectly. I swap ingredients constantly. And I fully support using whatever you already have in the fridge.
- If you’ve ever stood in your kitchen wondering what to cook with leftover chicken and a half-open spice drawer, you’re in the right place.
My goal is simple
To help you cook meals that are comforting, flavorful, and actually doable on a weekday.
The Life Outside the Kitchen
Outside of cooking, I work full-time in regulatory affairs — managing global submissions, compliance documentation, and everything that comes with it.
But somewhere between spreadsheets and regulations, I’m usually thinking about my next meal.
(Spoiler: it’s usually chicken tikka or buttered toast. There’s rarely anything in between.)
Thanks for being here
I hope you find recipes that make your cooking easier, more flavorful, and maybe even a little more fun. So grab whatever’s in your fridge, open the spice drawer, and let’s cook something delicious together.
